New Feature VIDEO! “Early Season: 3 on a Tough Day”

Cold southerlies at the start of the trip. Ugh.
This trip began, as it always does, with details and logistics of getting the van going, the legal stuff done, food, water, and pack the van for a go. With heavy rain to the west and south, cold and wet along the east coast, we chose to stay closer to our starting point. Cold and wet is always a blessing through the lowland streams, keeping flows up and in-stream temperatures down. This typically lingers into mid-December, where the dropping out of smaller tributary waters happens quickly.
This day, well, is not one for our favorite van camping experiences list. For as wet and cold as we were, coming back to the van and trying to find a way to hang our gear to dry while keeping the doors and windows closed to keep the sandflies out, well, you take it on at the start of the trip when you have the gusto 🙂
There are three trout caught in this video and because of the conditions, we focus solely on those and not much else. This video features sight-fishing in pouring rain & muddy water; an epic Bow & Arrow fish through HEAVY cover; tough sighting to a 7lb brown cruising & feeding.
